Equipmake recently revealed the latest version of its electric bus powertrain, aimed at double-decker applications.

The Equipmake EBus drivetrain features a number of novel innovations, aimed at improving energy efficiency, and therefore increasing vehicle range and reducing capital cost.

Technology

The Equipmake EBus drivetrain utilizes 2 APM200 motors, mated with Semikron SKAI inverters. Equipmake’s innovative spoke-architecture electric motor, bred from F1 technology. These motors each produce 220 kW and 450 N·m of torque are mated to a two-speed gearbox, while proven Semikron SKAI inverters and the latest generation lithium-ion battery cells complete the fully integrated platform.

    APM 200

    The APM200 has been designed specifically to meet the requirements of the high-performance traction motor. Its unique spoke architecture enables the rotor to be liquid-cooled increasing the motors continuous power output capability.
