Climate Academy @ Clixoo

Education for climate action

What is Climate Academy?

Climate Academy is Clixoo’s division focussed on education & skilling for climate change action.

If a significant portion of the world's population were given effective knowledge and tools to tackle the climate crisis, it would result in the most sustainable approach to effective climate action worldwide. This is what we wish to accomplish at the Climate Academy.

Our initial focus is to implement climate education and skilling programmes for India on a large scale. (See also: Assistance for Effective Climate Education for Schools)

There is a massive transformation happening worldwide - the shift to a low-carbon, net zero economy. This transformation will touch almost every segment of the industry and community, and will involve hundreds of trillions of dollars of investments over the next five decades.

Surprisingly, such a transformation has not been supported by structured, organized and effective education & training, and this is true for most parts of the world. Without a strong platform that provides focussed education, skilling, reskilling and upskilling, there will be significant challenges for the low carbon economy to function.

Climate Academy will satisfy this need for climate action focussed education & skilling.

The Climate Academy utilizes the long experience gained by Clixoo's founding team members who had earlier run Energy Alternatives India (EAI), a leading clean energy consulting platform for over a decade.

Our fundamental framework comprises a set of decarbonization avenues (DA) we have identified, and high-impact technology and solutions within each of the DAs. Almost all global decarbonization efforts over the next 50 years will be undertaken using the components of this framework. The learning and skills from the Climate Academy will hence be of high value in a world that will have a growing demand for such expertise. (See the complete list of Decarbonization Avenues)

With the help of the core Clixoo team and from our expert partner network, the academy will provide focussed education, intelligence and skilling to all the important stakeholders in the fight against climate change.

All our courses will be virtual, enabling you to benefit from them, wherever you are.

All our courses will be aligned with the Decarbonization Avenues & High Impact Technologies & Solutions

India focus

While many of our courses can benefit global stakeholders, Climate Academy will be focussing on India in its initial stages.

In 2022, we will be organizing online courses for the following segments in India:

  • Entrepreneurs & startups
  • Financial investors
  • College students & faculty

The courses will be customized to Indian needs and opportunities and will comprise a mix of concepts, case studies and live interactions with industry and academic experts and successful startup founders.

Who will benefit from Climate Academy?

While Indian professionals from many sectors can benefit from climate education, those in the following segments will benefit the most in the initial stages:

  • Financial investors
  • Startups & entrepreneurs
  • College students & faculty
  • Policy makers
  • Corporate decision makers & corporate sustainability professionals
  • Engineering professionals in specific disciplines

First course from Climate Academy to focus on Indian entrepreneurs

Our first course, Climate Tech Opportunities for Indian Entrepreneurs (CTO), will be for Indian entrepreneurs keen on starting a business venture/startup in the climate tech domain.

The course will start in the first week of June 2022, and will be a fully virtual course.
