Decarbonization Avenue : Renewable Natural Gas

Challenges

Lack of sufficient supply

In many countries with aggressive plans for utilization of RNG, there simply isn’t enough RNG to replace their current consumption of natural gas—not even close.

This could be yet another example of a chicken-and-egg dilemma. Entrepreneurs need to have enough market demand before they can invest into RNG plants, but many industrial and commercial end users want to see enough supply before they can make firm commitments on RNG use.
