And here’s good news from India on the solar thermal innovation front.
In order to boost innovations and indigenous manufacturing of solar thermal components and systems, the government has set up ( https://bit.ly/2UFmzAy ) a test rig facility in the city of Hyderabad to test and validate solar thermal system components.
Testing support organizations are often an overlooked part of the innovation ecosystem, but that should not be the case.
While big bang innovations are being attempted by large corporates in developed economies, which are supported by either their own testing facilities or those from reputed ones such as Fraunhofer, climate innovations from developing or underdeveloped countries usually do not have access to world class local testing support. Without such testing and certifications, commercializing innovations is a tough ask.
Let's hope that India's example is followed by many other countries worldwide
