Solar thermal heat pumps

A solar-assisted heat pump is a machine that represents the integration of a heat pump and thermal solar panels in a single integrated system.

Typically these two technologies are used separately (or only placing them in parallel) to produce hot water. In an integrated system, the use of electricity can be adjusted based on the amount of heating provided by the solar thermal panels (or the solar thermal storage system) at any point in time, thus reducing the amount of electricity consumed during hot days.

Such a hybrid system, in addition to energy savings, also significantly increases the reliability as the system now can provide heating 24x7.
