Evacuated receiver systems at low pressure conditions for CSP

Non-evacuated tubes in parabolic troughs are usually employed for low temperature applications (about 300 deg C) to prevent thermal losses. For higher temperatures of 500 deg C and beyond, evacuated tubes can be used between the steel pipe and the glass cover, thus reducing thermal losses and increasing the overall efficiency of the PTC.
