Decarbonization Avenue : Renewable Natural Gas

Innovation Insights

Utility partnerships with feedstock sources such as agri & poultry farms

Feedstock is considered to be the most critical component when implementing a renewable natural gas project. It plays a major role in determining the viability of the project. A wide range of organic wastes are generated on a daily basis – from households, industrial, commercial sectors and agricultural fields, which are potential sources for RNG.

To operate the plant on a daily basis, consistent supply of feedstock is essential. Given the nature of the unorganized feedstock sector, it is essential for plant operators to set up long term partnerships with feedstock providers.
