Organocatalysts to convert CO2 to polycarbonates

Conventional polycarbonates involve use of petro products such as bisphenol A. In the case of CO2 to polycarbonates several catalysts such as metallic and chemical catalysts are explored. One emerging technology is the use of organocatalysts for their conversion. These catalysts have advantages with lack of sensitivity to moisture and oxygen, ready availability, less toxic, low cost compared to metallic catalysts.
