Flexible feedstock biogas digesters

Biogas digester is a well known process for the treatment of cow dung. However, in due course, several feedstocks have been explored such as poultry waste, food waste, industrial sludge and more recently agro waste.

Different types of feedstocks have different gas production rates and thus an optimal ratio of feedstock is essential to enhance the yield. However, it is to be noted that existing digester models cannot process all the feedstock at one cycle which presents a challenge for scaling. Hence, an optimal digester design which is flexible for different types of feedstock is critical for commercial operations.
